San Fernando City, La Union (15 February) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is in-focus on her different programs and projects being implemented as she continues on her good governance despite the growing political chaos.
According to Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, the President is actively having a hands-on in the implementation of her programs as she personally visits school beneficiaries as part of her uplifting the education sector through the health programs for children like the supplemental feeding program and also leads the distribution of iron-fortified rice and dental kits to schoolchildren under her Food-for-School Program.
According to the Department of Education (DepEd), since the implementation of the supplementation and feeding program, they have noted a significant improvement in the performance of students which includes increased in attendance, lesser absenteeism, and increase in the nutrition levels of pupils in beneficiary schools.
Duque said that the full force of the President's Cabinet is very supportive in implementing these different programs and projects to counter hunger and poverty and in tracking the right path to economic progress. (PIA La Union) [top]
