NVizcaya hospital rakes P25-M income for its upgraded facilities

BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya (February 15) -- The income of the provincial hospital here increased from P15 million in 2006 to P25 million in 2007 due to the upgrading of its equipments, construction of additional wards and purchase of other facilities.

Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial hospital chief said the recent developments undertaken within the hospital triggered the increase in its income.

"Before the upgrading, patients are only seasonal but after the implementation of upgrading, patients increased," Galapon told PIA.

He said the recent upgraded facilities were the construction of 5-room Philhealth ward where a room can accommodate 4 patients, the 15-room private ward, laboratory equipments, establishment of a bloodbank hiring of part-time and full-time consultants and the newly completed dialysis center.

Galapon said that the construction of additional private ward with 18 rooms will start in March this year to cater to the growing needs of patients.

He added that their budget for their pharmacy has increased from P6 million in 2007 to P10 million this year which will be used to purchase additional medicines needed by the patients.

"The medicines will be available during the 2nd quarter. These will help patients a lot in terms of savings and time," he explained.

With the improving facilities and equipments, Galapon said they are targeting P29 million for his year as income for the provincial hospital.

"The increase in our income is also a product of our intensified campaign on prompt payments and the cooperation of the patients. We still however, accommodate charity payments," he said. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
