Lagawe police arrests wanted person

LAGAWE, Ifugao (16 February) -- Police force here arrested recently one of the most wanted persons here.

Led by Police Inspector Daniel Kinakin, three elements of this station arrested Gemo Babayungan who is listed as number five most wanted person here.

Senior Police Officer 2 Martin Tayaban of the Crime Investigation said that Babayungan was arrested on February 9 at around 6:20 PM in Barangay Poblacion North here. He was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 14 for crime of rape under crime case N.R. 1732. According to Tayaban, Babayungan allegedly raped a 17 year old lass from Kalinga.

Meanwhile, Police Senior Inspector Marcelo Cabay, who just assumed as police chief here, said that as of presstime, there are ten most wanted persons here. "We will do our best in arresting them (wanted persons) in order to maintain peace and order in this capital town and to give justice to their victims," Cabay said. (PI-Ifugao) [top]
