PO leaders support Negros Oriental DAR chief

Dumaguete City (29 February) -- Leaders of five people's organizations (PO) from Manjuyod town have strongly opposed the call for the ouster of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Provincial Chief Grace B. Fua.
The PO leaders in a petition also opposed the "removal from post" of Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer of Manjuyod Elvira Bation, as well as the other municipal agrarian reforms officers in the province.
The Negros Farmers Council has earlier filed a petition letter calling for the ouster of Fua and the municipal agrarian reform officers here.
In their petition, the PO leaders said that Manjuyod has benefited much from DAR through its Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
They cited the P8-M waterworks project implemented in Manjuyod, the different livelihood projects enjoyed by the barangays, capability building and strengthening given to the farmer beneficiaries, and the installation and resolution of farmer-beneficiaries conflicts, among others.
The five PO leaders who signed the said petition are Flaviano A. Bahandi, Jr. (BOD Chairman- Sycip Plantation Farmworkers Multipurpose Cooperative SPFWMPC); Antonio C. Kadusale (BOD Chairman-Mandalupang ARB Multipurpose Coop- MARBEMPUCO); Relita A.
