CVAT gets PRO-6 citation

by A. Lumaque

Roxas City (6 August) -- The Capiz Volunteer Assistance Team (CVAT) has received a special award during the Police Regional Office (PRO) - 6 culminating ceremony of the Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration last August 4 at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

CVAT Vice-President Berwin Yap received the award presented by National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Regional Director Honey Paredes.

"CVAT is the only non-government organization awardee in the ceremony," said CVAT National Net Controller Arnel Van Aleligay.

Aleligay along with CVAT Board of Trustee Angie Capapas also joined Yap at Camp Delgado to receive the award.

A similar citation was also received by CVAT from PRO 6 because of its active support to the PNP programs and activities during the PCR month celebration last year. The team has also been a recipient of various certificates of appreciation from the various regional offices of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and Capiz-based national government agencies as well as institutions since its establishment last July 2003.

It is presently composed of 20 active operatives aside from its auxiliaries who cater to emergency communications, disaster and hazard monitoring and public service activities based on the group's updated profile.

Meanwhile, the regional PCR month culmination ceremony was graced by Police Senior Supt. Baligi Tira of the Office of the Chief PNP at Camp Crame, PRO 6 Director Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas, representatives of concerned police stations in the region and awardees.

The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) was represented in the activity by its Deputy Provincial Director Chief Insp. Pablito Silvestre and Provincial Executive Senior Police Officer SPO4 Edgar Francisco.

The 13th PCR month celebration theme was "Serbisyong Maayos, Magalang at Mabilis…Patuloy na Handog ni Mamang Pulis." (PIA) [top]
