13 recruiting offices to join 2-day jobs fair in Maasin

Maasin City (August 6) -- And then there were thirteen (13) recruitment agencies raring to come in this city for jobs hiring on August 8 and 9.

Provincial Labor and Employment Officer Fe Norma Valuis of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) revealed this much number of firms who have Job Orders for certain work placement outside the country.

In a phone interview with PIA yesterday, Valuis also disclosed the main offices where the prospective employers were based, saying that seven (7) of them were Cebu-based, one (1) Manila-based, and five (5) of them were based in Tacloban.

Among those set to be hired were not only domestic help but also workers with technical expertise, or even professionals, Valuis said, although no particulars on the type of work was yet revealed.

She identified the 7 Cebu-based agencies as the following: International Skill Development Inc.; YWA Human Resources Corp.; IUPP, Inc.; Placewell International Services Corp.; GBMLT Manpower Services, Inc.; East-West Placement Center, Inc.; and Al Alamia International Manpower Services.

The lone Manila-based firm is Jopman Corporation.

Those listed as coming from Tacloban were 10th Story Placement Agency, Inc.; Mother's Way Overseas Manpower Specialist Corp.; Pacific Meditterenian Int'l Manpower Agency, Inc.; Treasure of Hope International, Inc.; and Unijobs International Manpower Services Corp.

Two firms were listed as wanting personnel for local employment, and these were Pryce Gases, Inc., and St. Agustin School of Nursing.

All the firms mentioned have their special recruitment authority (SRA), a DOLE source further informed.

The two-day Jobs Fair, which is to be held at the city gym, was an initiative of the provincial government led by Gov. Damian Mercado as its contribution to the 8th Charter Day anniversary celebration of the city of Maasin, it was learned. (PIA-Southern Leyte) [top]
