San Carlos City expands feeding program for kids
Bacolod City (6 August) -- The Social Welfare and Development Office of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental launched a special supplemental feeding program for malnourished pre-school children, aged 5 years and below in Barangay V, recently.
The six month supplemental feeding involving 219 children provides the regular three-times-per-week feeding, in addition to two days of feeding, in addition to two days of feeding per week for Barangay V recipients.
San Carlos City government has allocated P711,000 for its regular feeding program for the whole year, amounting to P124,216 from the city's share of the Small Town Lottery, an affiliate of the PCSO.
San Carlos City Mayor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Mayor Gerardo Valmayor, Jr. launched the program by serving the food to the 219 children.
Mayor Lacson encouraged the parents to avail of the program for the children's good health.
The first special supplemental feeding program was launced in Barangay VI in San Carlos City recently, wherein 283 children were benefited. (PIA/cad) [top]
