Marawi City, Lanao del Sur (6 August) -- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Director Sultan Cabili Arobinto said their Local Price Monitoring Council will continue to monitor prices of essential food items and basic commodities in the local market to ensure that prices of food supply in the area are within reach by the general public.
Sultan Arobinto said the continuing process of monitoring the prices of food items will eventually discourage local businessmen from taking advantage of the present economic crisis and in manipulating prices of basic commodities in the local market.
Among the items included in their price watch are commercial rice, canned goods like sardines and other essential food stuff flour and pandesal.
However, Arobinto urges the public to be vigilant saying that the government has been moving heaven and earth to address this economic crisis. (PIA-Marawi) [top]
