The week-long celebration revolved around the theme "PPA e-services: connecting for efficiency, quality and competitiveness" and kicked off with a Motorcade around Tacloban City major thoroughfares, Director Arturo Gabrieles informed.

The commemorative program at the Bulwagan ng Katarungan Grounds, Tacloban City was highlighted by the launching of the Gulayan sa Bulwagan, a project initiated by the Volunteer Probation Aides of Tacloban City Parole and Probation Office known as the Tacloban Volunteer Peace Advocates.

With the guidance of Tacloban City Parole and Probation Office Chief Carolina R. Corpin and staff, ably assisted by the President of the VPAs Herminigildo Tana, the expertise of Dr. Victorio Quiton, Executive Vice President of Leyte State University and the active involvement of its clients, the Agency hopes to bag the sought-after prize of the Search for the Best Gulayan sa REAL, a project of the Region 8 Administrators League under the leadership of PAG-IBIG Fund manager Flordelis Menzon.

The cutting of the ribbon and the planting of the first seedling was done by Mayor Alfred Romualdez who was the guest of honor during the commemorative program which was also graced by Executive Judge Rogelio Y. Sescon, Judge Salvador Y. Apurillo, Provincial Prosecutor Cesar Merin and City Prosecutor Ruperto Golong, Jr.
