Tagalog News: PGMA ipinasuri ang oil at power companies

Manila (7 August) -- Ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang pagsusuri sa mga oil at power companies upang maseguro na ang downtrend ng world oil prices ay kaagad na mabibigyan mararandaman ng mga mamamayan sa pamamagitan ng pagbaba presyo ng mga socially-sensitive commodity.

Inihayag pa ni Press Secretary Jesus Dureza na ipinag-utos ng Pangulong Arroyo ang pag-audit sa mga nabanggit na kompanya upang maseguro na ang mga oil at power companies ay fully compliant sa Oil Deregulation Law at ang pagpapababa ng presyo ng langis sa international market at maipapaabot din sa local market.

Ayon pa kay Dureza, nais umano ng Pangulo na dahil nag-reduce na ang presyo sa international, dapat din umanong makakamit ng mga lokal na mamimili ang nasabing benepisyo

Samantala inihayag naman ng US-based investment banking giant Merill Lynch na ang downtrend ng presyo ng langis sa global market magpapatuloy pa rin hanggang sa susunod na taon. (KAlbay/PIA 12) [top]
