Kabankalan City holds jobs fair and passporting
Negros Occidental (13 August) -- Hundreds of jobseekers flood the lobby of Kabankalan City Hall, this province, to avail of the job vacancies and mobile processing of passports conducted by the Department of Labor and Department of Foreign Affairs as sponsored by the city.
The jobs fair is an effort by the government agencies and the local government unit in response to the call of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to provide job opportunities and create more jobs to Filipinos.
The event was participated in by 20 recruitment agencies, 15 of which are for overseas employment, while there are five for local employment.
Around 409 applicants registered for the jobs, 286 for abroad and 123 for the local employment.
Participating agencies for local employment were SM (Supervalue,Inc.), SM (Main Stream Business, Inc.), URC-Sugar Division SONEDCO, Teletech – Bacolod, Gaisano – Kabankalan, HR Plus Consultancy and DOLE.
For overseas employment were the Al-Alamia Intl Manpower Services, PERT/CPM Manpower, EEI-Corporation, ANIFEL Management. and General Services, Mother's Way Overseas Manpower Specialist Corporation, Quintinian's Placement Agency, Al-Fatih Manpower Int'l Services, Malorata Int'l Manpower Agency, SK Manpower Consultant, Concorde Int'l Resources Corp., France Asia Int'l Inc., Green World Placement Services, Nawras Manpower Services and YWA Human Resources.
Meanwhile, there were 364 applicants for the mobile passporting.
