Butuan PNP intensifies drive vs illegal gambling

Butuan City (August 14) -- Police personnel from Vice Control Section of Butuan City Police Office led by PSINSP Ronaldo Plaza last Monday conducted operation against illegal gambling, which resulted to the apprehension of the suspect identified as Crispin Burdeos Cadez, 29 years old, sub-coordinator, married and resident of Purok-3, Barangay Holy Redeemer, this city.

Confiscated from his possession were six pieces filled-up "swertres" tally sheets, bet money amounting to Php 830.00 and gambling paraphernalia.

Subject person was brought to Butuan City Police Office for proper disposition.

Also, PNP personnel of Regional Investigation Division PRO-13 led by PCINSP Rolando Cuya conducted search to the residence of the suspect identified as Enrane Abellanosa, resident of Virgo Street, South Montilla Boulevard, Barangay JP Rizal, this city by virtue of Search Warrant number 1002-2008, issued by Hon Judge Eduardo Casals of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch-1, Butuan City on August 11, 2008 at 8:45 in the evening.

As a result, suspect was apprehended and confiscated from his possession were two units fax machine; several filled-up tally sheets; bet money amounting to Php 1,200.75 and assorted Gambling paraphernalia.

The search was conducted in an orderly manner and witnessed by the residents of said place led by Barangay Kagawad Honorlito Nalcot Jr.

San Francisco cops arrest shooting incident suspect

PNP elements of San Francisco Municipal Police Station arrested Norma Octaviano, 39 years old, resident of Purok-4A, Barangay 5, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur for shooting her husband Julius Octaviano, 36 years old, last August 10 at 2:50 in the afternoon.

Recovered from the suspect was one unit homemade cal.38 revolver loaded with three live ammos and one spent cartridge placed at the couple's bed.

Initial investigation disclosed that said couple just celebrates a birthday party with relatives at their residence and afterwards, the couple overheard having intense argument due to jealousy leading to a commotion.

The wife ran towards their bedroom, locked herself inside where she took a gun because her husband forcibly open the bedroom, and once inside, assaulted her, which prompted to shot her husband.

Victim immediately rushed to DOP Memorial Hospital by their relatives while suspect voluntarily surrendered to the responding team from San Francisco Municipal Police Station. (PNP-PRO-13/PIA-Caraga)

Trento town cops apprehend stabbing incident suspect

A stabbing incident suspect identified as Eugene Opilla 32 years old, single, laborer and resident of Barangay San Isidro, Trento, Agusan del Sur was arrested by PNP personnel, recently.

The victim, Jovane Loro alias "Bonbon", 19 years old, single, laborer and resident of Barangay Manat, Trento, Agusan del Sur was stabbed in the stomach and rushed to Tagum Regional Hospital in Tagum City for medical treatment.

Suspect is now detained at Trento Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (PNP-PRO-13/PIA-Caraga)

PNP probes fire accident in industrial building

On Tuesday (August 12) at 6:50 in the morning at Purok-4, Bingkilan, Barangay San Vicente, this city, one single storey industrial building owned by Engr. Carlito Oraiz was razed by fire. Fire trucks from Bureau of Fire Protection-Butuan immediately responded to the incident wherein the fire was declared under control around 7:30 in the morning that day.

Estimated cost of damaged reached to P3,000.00 and no reported casualty.

Elements from Butuan City Police Station-1 provided area security during the incident, while investigation is being conducted by Bureau of Fire Protection to determine the cause of fire. (PNP-PRO-13/PIA-Caraga) [top]
