BIR fetes top taxpayers in Bicol

Legazpi City (19 August) -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue in Bicol (Revenue Region No. 10) celebration of the 104th BIR Founding Anniversary last August 8, was highlighted by the program giving recognition to the top taxpayers in the Bicol region, and the national draw for the Premyo sa Resibo conducted electronically.
The Bicol celebration of the BIR founding anniversary also featured the hard launching of the Tax Integrated Tax System (ITS) covering the rollout of four systems applications namely: Registration (REG), Returns Processing System (RPS), Collection and Bank Reconciliation (CBR) and the Taxpayer Accounting System (TAS) under the Nationwide Rollout of Computerized System (NRCS).
To conform with this year's anniversary theme "Buwis Mong Babayaran, Ating Kinabukasan", BIR Bicol OIC regional director Diosdado R. Mendoza said that it is fitting to give commendation to the top taxpayers for their significant contribution in exceeding the region's collection goal by 17.05% for the year 2007 thus making Revenue Region No. 10 as the top collection performer (1st place) under the Class "B" Region Category.
A total of 38 top taxpayers were awarded with plaques by BIR top officials led by OIC-Deputy Commissioner for Operations Nelson M. Aspe, Assistant Commissioners Haime B. Santiago of the Taxpayers Assistance Service and Alberto A. Pio de Roda of the Information Systems Development Service.
The top taxpayers in each Revenue District Office (RDO) in Bicol were classified into two categories, the corporation and individual.
The top taxpayers in Bicol are: RDO-64, Daet, Camarines Norte — Motortrade Nationwide Corp. (corporation) and Alberto Yao (Individual); RDO-65, Naga City — Broadvue Traders Corp., South Star Drug, and Easystride, (corporation); Grace de Leon, Ernesto Sancho, and Nathaniel Uy (Individual); ROD-66, Iriga City — G7 Bank (Rural Bank of Nabua, Inc.), Saint Anthony Academy of Iriga, Inc., and Camarines Sur III Electric Cooperative, Inc. (corporation); Abner P. Ferrer, Elizabeth O. Bearis, and Eric Fabian O. Mendez (Individual); RDO-67, Legazpi City — Bluestone Trading Corp., Sunwest Construction & Dev't. Corp., and DSB Construction & Supply (corporation); Christopher Co, Tomas Rañola, and Maria Uy Lo (Individual);

Three RDOs in Bicol who were the top collection performers in 2007 were also given citation for their exemplary collection performance — RDO-69 Catanduanes headed by Ramon T. King, Jr. topped the collection performance, followed by RDO-68, Sorsogon City under the helm of Arturo D. Abenoja, Jr, and third was RDO-67-Legazpi City led by Ma. Luisa I. Belen. (BIR/PIA) [top]
