Cebu biz group to join Wine Int'l Trade Show in South Africa
Cebu City (21 August) -- Cebu businessmen will strengthen its ties with its counterpart in South Africa as it sets to join the nine-day renowned International Wine Festival in Cape Town, South Africa as the Wines of South Africa (WOSA) presents the 5th Biennial Cape Wine International Trade Show on September 19 to 27, this year.
Twenty-two delegates from the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) - South Africa Trade Mission will have a half-day excursion through the vineyards and wine cellars at the Meerendal Wine Estate to observe how the wines are prepared and hold taste testing of their best cuisines in an African braii.
The CCCI delegation will also conduct a business mission and meet the members of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Cape Town Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and the businessmen in Pretoria during the welcome dinner to be hosted by Ambassador Virgilio Reyes, Jr. in Pretoria, South Africa.
Seminars will also be conducted in conjunction with the trade exhibition. An interactive panel of prominent politicians and wine industry specialists shall discuss the wine industry as well as the political and socio-economic outlook for South Africa for the next five years.
Technologically advanced winemakers will present wines from unique terroirs while the new generation of winemakers will present wines which embody their personal philosophy. A panel of winemakers will also conduct a tasting of their organic and biodynamic wines.
South Africa has the longest wine route in the world. The Wine Festival will be held at the state-of-the-art Cape Town International Convention Centre featuring over 300 wineries, seminars on the latest wine technology, and a showcase on the best of Cape Wine cuisine and lifestyle. Wines of South Africa members will exhibit 4,000 wines at their individual stands giving CCCI delegates the opportunity to network with South African winemakers, taste and discover their wide variety of wines, and to learn more about the wine-making business.
