Albay to host International Earth Science Olympiad

Legazpi City (29 August) -- The International Geoscience Education Organization (IGEO) will hold its second International Earth Science Olympiad from August 31 to September 8 this year in the province of Albay.
IGEO Olympiad organizing committee chairperson Miguel Cano said at least nine countries already expressed interest in joining the event. "Among these countries are the United States, China, Singapore and India."
Invited to the event students and teachers from selected secondary schools in Bicol region.
Booths and exhibits of the region's various institutions, agencies and industries will be set up during the event.
Organizers have scheduled at the People's Hall of Albay Provincial Capitol here, a welcome program on September 3 and a roundtable discussion on climate change on September 6.
During the roundtable discussion, authorities will present the province's initiatives on climate change adaptation and mitigation.
