DAR to launch more ARCs
Dumaguete City (29 August) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform through its provincial office in Negros Oriental is set to launch more agrarian reform communities (ARCs) in different municipalities in the province before the year ends.
Identified to be launched are four Special ARCs namely: SDC-Timbao Agro tourism (Bacong)-SARC; CDC-Mangatas Calamity Prone Area (CPA)-SARC (Sibulan); CDC-Siapo Peace Development Zone (PDZ)-SARC (San Jose); NDC-Kauswagan Agro tourism (Manjuyod)-SARC. Four (4) Regular ARCs namely: SDC-Bal-os ARC in Basay; CDC-Sta. Cruz ARC in Tanjay City; NDC-Ayungon ARC and CDC-Lumbangan ARC in Mabinay.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Grace B. Fua has directed the CARPO BDCD Benjamin Empig to fast track the documentation of these proposed ARCs.
An Agrarian Reform Community will benefit from an integrated support package that will include credit provisions from various sources, farm to market roads, improved irrigation system, provisions of potable water and electricity and varied training programs.
Meanwhile, the DAR-Provincial Office in Dumaguete has a new OIC Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer (CARPO) for Operations in the person of Mrs. Elvira Bation.
In the meantime that the CARPO for Operations Tessie Corpuz is on leave, DAR Provincial Office, in the exigencies of the service, decided to place an OIC CARPO for Operations to oversee operational matters.
Mrs. Bation was formerly assigned in Manjuyod as Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer (MARO). (PIA) [top]
