DTI Capiz receives award for electronic exhibit

Roxas City (4 November) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Capiz Provincial Office's electronic exhibit about the One-Town-One-Product in the province was cited a novelty award during the observance of National Statistics Month (NSM) last October.
The OTOP exhibit featured the various towns preferred product printed in tarpaulin mounted in a rotating cylinder for a continuous display of the information.
OTOP is a priority project of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo which seeks to promote entrepreneurship and create jobs especially in the countryside. Its main feature is convergence of efforts, assistance and services of all stakeholders - from the local government units which take the lead in identifying, developing and promoting a specific product or service to the national government agencies and the private sector which provide necessary support for it to become a viable MSME.
Meanwhile, the other government agencies which received the award were National Statistics Office (NSO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Roxas City Fire Marshal, National Food Authority (NFA), and Department of Natural Resources Office's (DENR) – Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO).
The statistical exhibit was among the NSM activities initiated by the provincial government in collaboration with the NSO – Provincial Office. The other activities included a motorcade and data presentation. (PIA) [top]
