Tagalog News: IPs sa Maasim, Sarangani inatake ng MILF

Koronadal City (5 November) -- Mahigit dalawampung (20) armadong grupo na pinaniniwalaang miyembro ng rebeldeng grupong Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) ang sangkot sa pag-atake sa ilang Indigenous People's (IP) village sa Maasim, Sarangani kamakailan.

Ayon kay Lt. Col. Edgardo de Leon, malaki ang posibilidad na ang ginawang pag-atake ng nabanggit na rebeldeng grupo ay bilang banta at pananakot sa mga IP's dahil sa patuloy na pagsuporta ng mga ito sa pamahalaan.

Dahil sa ginawang pag-atake ng mga rebeldeng grupo, napilitang lumaban ang mga barangay tanod at mga residente na pinangungunahan ni barangay captain Luna Tabalao sa pamamagitan ng "firefight" gamit ang kani-kanilang personal firearms (FAs).

Ayon kay 73IB civil military officer 2Lt. Angel Cinco, wala namang naitalang nasawi o nasugatan sa naganap na pag-atake at magpapatuloy pa rin ang pursuit operations ng mga ito laban sa ilang miyembro ng MILF habang ilan sa mga militar ay iniimbestigahan pa ang pangyayari. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
