DOST XII, Jebran Miki Factory ink MOA on technology transfer

Koronadal City (6 November) -- The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) XII signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Jebran Miki Factory in undertaking technology transfer involving squash fresh miki and canton noodles making.

Jebran Miki Factory was one of the participants in the seminar conducted by DOST XII on Awareness Clinic on Veggies in cooperation with the Food Nutrition Research Institution (FNRI).

The said activity was initiated by Hadja Sittie Shayna Zenaida D. Laidan of DOST XII and Joyce Tobias, Supervising Science Research Specialist as their guest speaker.

The undertaking was pursuant to the executive order issued by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on developing and producing healthy food using readily available indigenous rootcrops like squash, cassava, and potatoes.

This program is part of the promotion of the Small and Medium Enterprises through the use of indigenous resources thus provide livelihood opportunities and help in the creation of jobs in the rural areas in Central Mindanao where poverty abounds and exacerbated by the armed conflict.

Prior to the MOA signing, DOST XII conducted an Awareness Seminar and Technology Clinic on the Commercializable technologies on noodle/bread through Technology application Promo0tion Institute. (RICC Cotabato City) [top]
