By Venus May H. Sarmiento

Dagupan City (6 November) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has lined up several activities for its forthcoming 75th anniversary to highlight its commitment to public service.

District Officer Adonis Peralta said the three- day 'Diskwento Karavan' held in October at the CSI Stadia in Dagupan City jumpstarted the activities where basic commodities were offered to the public at discounted prices for as much as 70%.

Peralta said another 'Diskwento Karavan' will be held at CSI mall in Urdaneta City on November 7 alongside a mini jobs fair at the Urdaneta Cultural and Sports Center.

Other activities will take place on the same day: signing of a memorandum of agreement on non-wage benefits for the minimum wage earners in the private sector, awarding of livelihood checks, advocacy sessions to be conducted by POEA,OWWA, NCMB,NLRC and TESDA.

DOLE Secretary Marianito Roque will be the event's guest of honor and speaker.

Peralta added that DOLE will hold similar activities at the Alcala town multi purpose gym on November 11 to better serve eastern Pangasinan residents. (PIA-Pangasinan) [top]
