Talisay City distributes piglet discount cards

Bacolod City (6 November) -- Eleven beneficiaries in Talisay City, Neg. Occ. received restocking discount cards for 22 piglets under the city's integrated livelihood program in partnership with the Department of Agriculture.

Each of the beneficiaries from different barangays received discount cards worth P1,000, P800 off the P1,800 cost cost of each piglet. The remaining P800 is the beneficiary's counterpart in addition to the feeds and piglets.

Talisay Mayor Eric Saratan led the turn-over rites held at the City hall.

The project aims to enhance pork production in the region and Negros Occidental has an allocation of 1,410 piglets.

The Talisay City Agriculture Office will help ensure that the piglets will fatten in four months time by providing the beneficiaries technical assistance and regularly monitoring the project. (PIA/cad) [top]
