Peace concert to highlight Global Peace Festival Cordillera 2008 on November 12

Baguio City (7 November) -- The Universal Peace Federation (UPF), a non-stock, non-profit organization, in the promotion of its peace objectives towards the realization of "One family under God", has led multi-sectoral efforts to organize a Global Peace Festival (GPF).
For Luzon, Baguio City has been chosen as one of venue for the GPF events. Dubbed Global Peace Festival Cordillera 2008, this will run from November 9 to 12.
Major activities include an "Oplan Central Business District Clean-Up" on November 9, spearheaded NSTP, Sangguniang Kabataan and youth volunteers; an "International Youth Summit" on November 11-12 to be held at the Baguio City National High School; and an "International Leadership Conference" at Hotel Veniz on November 11-12, which is open to all Baguio Rotarians.
There will also be a Peace Parade on November 12, which will start at 1:00 in the afternoon from Casa Vallejo Upper Session Road, down Harrison Road to Melvin Jones Football Park. There will be fun games, entertainment, enlightening peace messages from known speakers, raffle draws and fireworks display.
Capping the festival is a Peace Concert on Nov. 12 with expected performances from celebrities Billy Crawford, Geneva Cruz, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Kitchie Nadal, Miguel Escueta and Pinoy band Hale.
GPF Cordillera 2008, is organized in coordination with the City Government. GPF coordinator for Cordillera is Prof. Dominador Umipig.
