P15-M set for San Isidro resettlement project
Iloilo City (14 November) -- The National Housing Authority (NHA) has approved the release of some P15 million for the proposed San Isidro Resettlement Project in Brgy. San Isidro, Jaro district of this city.
NHA-Iloilo Project Manager Isagani Jalbuena said the allocation is the agency's contribution for the immediate land development of the resettlement project.
Jalbuena added that the release of allocation was made possible through NHA Board Resolution No 5116.
The proposed San Isidro Resettlement Project is a joint undertaking between the NHA and the city government of Iloilo.
Some 500 families rendered homeless by typhoon "Frank" last June 21, 2008 will benefit from the resettlement project acquired by the city government under the Poverty Alleviation Fund-3 (PAF-3) of the NHA.
The Habitat for Community through the DSWD is tasked to construct the 500 housing units over the 500 service lots developed by NHA.
Vice President and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Chairman Noli De Castro is expected to grace the inauguration of the project set on November 21, 2008. (PIA) [top]
