BCBP to launch "Be Honest" oratorical contest

Tacloban City, Leyte (14 November) -- The Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) will launch its BE HONEST Oratorical Contest on November 20, 2008 at the Kanhuraw Convention Center.
Tapping secondary third and fourth year students from the public and private sectors in the city, the BCBP sees the importance of Honesty to youth now a days.
With its slogan "Be Honest... Even If Others Are Not: Even If Others Will Not: Even If Others Cannot", BCBP composed of businessmen and professionals as members wanted to inspire and encourage the young sectors of our society to live out the virtue of Honesty even if others are not honest.
The Honesty Oratorical Contest is just one of the many competitions being conducted by different BCBP chapters nationwide which started in the month of November 2008 and will end February 2009 for the national match to be held in Manila. Big prizes awaits would be winners.
According to BCBP Unit Leader Asis Militante in an interview, the nationwide simultaneous Launching of the competition will kick-off with a motorcade around the city today November 15, 2008 to include the hanging of posters, billboards, streamers and distribution of promotional materials.
The Be Honest Campaign Program which was launched four years ago is BCBP's contribution in countering the culture of dishonesty and corruption which seems to prevail presently in our society.
The competition is in coordination with the Department of Education and duly endorsed by The Catholic Bishops Congress of the Philippines (CBCP) President His Excellency Bishop Angel Lagdameo. (PIA-8) [top]
