DOLE conducts Service Caravan for OFWs

Tuguegarao City (24 November) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 2 is conducting a regionwide service and information caravan to reach out and bring services to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.

Regional Director Grace Y. Ursua said the OFW reintegration caravan is part of its 75th Anniversary celebration with the help of the Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (OWWA).

The caravan includes a seminar for OFW families to educate and counsel them on the welfare of the OFWs, and how to maintain close ties and morale of the family.

DOLE will also conduct business counseling for OFW families who want to put up their own business and trainings on livelihood programs and projects.

OWWA will likewise conduct Job's Fair and Trade Fair for those who want to work abroad and assist them in looking for legal recruiters and quality jobs abroad.

The caravan will be conducted in Amulung, Cagayan on November 14; Sto. Tomas, Isabela on November 15; Sanchez Mira, Cagayan on November 18, Ilagan, Isabela on November 26; Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya on November 16 and Cabarroguis, Quirino on November 27, 2008.

Ursua believes that service caravans are effective ways to reach out to OFWs in assisting and maintaining good relationship among their families and to bring services to all who are planning to go abroad. (PIA Cagayan) [top]
