Gov Sacdalan distributes 297 land titles to farmer-beneficiaries

ICC Kidapawan City (24 November) -- Some 297 farmers are now legally owners of the land they till upon receiving the land titles from Governor Jesus Sacdalan of Cotabato province on November 21 at the municipal hall of Midsayap, North Cotabato.

Benny Queman of the office of the governor said, Governor Sacdalan will also give fruit seedling materials and farm implements to the farmers.

The "Handog Titulo" is a program of the governor, according to Queman, to complete the legal entitlement to the parcel of land the farmers have been telling and have applied for land titles as early as 1959. The 297 land titles cover one-fourth of a hectare to six (6) hectares in the towns of Midsayap, Pigkawayan and Libungan, North Cotabato, Queman disclosed.

Sacdalan counseled the farmer-beneficiaries to take care and to cultivate the land properly. He shared the message of unity by saying: "kapag sama-sama kayang-kaya dahil ito ay susi sa kaunlaran."

Also present during the distribution were Midsayap Mayor Manuel Rabara, Atty. Maria Theresa Biongan, register of deeds, DENR and other Municipal officials of Midsayap and barangay captains. (PIA 12) [top]
