Forum on good governance and moral leadership held

City, Sorsogon (4 February) -- Community leaders and sectoral representatives across the province gathered Friday, January 30, in a forum held here on good governance and moral leadership as well as issues on the proposed charter change.
Ms. Shirley Bolaņos, chair of the Provincial Alliance of NGOs and POs for Development (PANGOPOD), said the forum intended to increase awareness among the local citizenry various pressing socio-political issues and concerns in the country nowadays.
"We hope the locals of Sorsogon province would join the relentless call and advocacy for good governance, moral leadership and voice out their views on the proposed charter change," she stressed.
During the forum, former cabinet secretary Teresita Quintos-Deles delved on the Charter Change in the Context of the Current Socio-political Realities; while Bishop Arturo Bastes of the Diocese of Sorsogon talked about Good Governance and Moral Leadership: A Call to Action by the CBCP.
The movement also urged the people for support and collaboration in pursuit of clean and honest elections in 2010 in order to realize good governance and moral leadership.
