NVizcaya gov gives P1M for mayors, P20, 000.00 for barangays

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (4 February) -- Governor Luisa Cuaresma here has sustained its commitment to provide financial assistance to the municipalities of the province.

Mike Jubay, provincial planning and development coordinator said P1 million has been committed to the municipal mayors this year under Cuaresma's Municipal Development Assistance Program (MDAP) which intends to augment the priority projects of the municipal mayors.

Jubay said that during the recent Provincial Development Council (PDC) meeting, the 15 chief executives decided to purchase heavy equipments to fast track infrastructure development in their communities.

"They have decided to buy heavy equipments so that they can complement the efforts of the provincial government on the maintenance of roads and other LGU projects," Jubay said.

The 275 barangays of the province, Jubay added will also be given P20,000.00 each under the governor's program to provide financial assistance for the barangays.

"But they have to submit their project proposals which should be in line with our Provincial Physical Framework Plan (PPFP)," he explained.

The present administration, Jubay further said is banking on investment potentials of every sector in the province since this is the only way how we can do away with too much financial dependency from the national government through our Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).

He cited the provincial government's investment on the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal (NVAT) and "Health Tourism" efforts made on the improvement of the provincial hospital's personnel, equipment and facility resources in Bambang town which is now earning better income for the province, facelifting within the provincial capitol and the Dumlao boulevard in Bayombong town through cultural tourism amenities and the development of an eco-tourism project in lower Magat in Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya.
