Davao creates nutrition evaluation team

Davao City (5 February) -- City Health Officer Dr. Josephine Villafuerte has announced that the Davao City Government has created a City Nutrition Evaluation Team (CNET) headed by City Nutrition division chief Venus Yanong to evaluate the implementation of nutrition program in Davao City.
Yanong said the nutrition assessment is part of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) which is being undertaken by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) nationwide every year.
The CNET will visit different barangays to oversee and monitor its respective nutrition implementation. Schedules are: February 3 - Brgy Suawan, Marilog District and Brgy. Cadalian, Baguio District; February 4 – Brgy. Mintal, Tugbok District and Brgy. Toril Proper, Toril District;February 5 – Brgy. Matina Crossing, Talomo District, Brgy. Hizon, Sasa and Brgy. 2-A, Poblacion area.
There will be seven (7) identified brangays to be visited and evaluated by the members of the evaluation team. Members of CNET include: CHO, City Nutrition division, Kiwanis Club, University of Immaculate Concepcion, CSSDO, City Veterinarian Office, City Agriculturist Office, Dept. of Education, DILG, DTI, Legal Office.
Yanong explained that MELLPI is a yearly evaluation of nutrition program which gives recognition to barangays involved in the nutrition implementation of the government and improvement among our constituents.
After assessing all nutrition program implementation in the city, the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) led by National Nutrition Council regional head Ma. Teresa Ungson will also assess the nutrition programs chosen by the city MELLPI.
