Tagalog News: Pamahalaan inaasahang magpapalabas ng isang milyong trabaho para sa mga magsasaka

Manila (5 February) -- Inaasahang mapagbukas ang pamahalaan ng mahigit isang milyong trabaho para sa mga magsasaka at beneficiaries ng Mindanao Rural Development Program (MRDP) na ipapatupad sa pamamagitan ng Department of Agriculture (DA).

Ayon kay DA Undersecretary for Operation Jesus Emmanuel Paras, ang MRDP project ay bahagi ng multi-billion peso stimulus package ng pamahalaan upang maisaayos ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas sa kabila ng global recession dulot ng world economic meltdown.

Para sa rural infrastructure, ayon kay Paras ang kabuuang budget na $45 million (approx. P2 billion) ay ma-allocate ngayong taon para sa pagsasayos at repair ng farm-to-market roads, post-harvest facilities, irrigation system, portable system at iba pang farm projects.

Noong Disyembre noong nakaraang taon, ang pamahalaan ay nakapaglabas ng P114 million para sa 13 rural infrastructure project at P57.5 million para sa 23 livelihood project sa rehiyon ng Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Western Mindanao at Central Mindanao.

Ang MRDP project ay pinonduhan ng World Bank, at 50% na counterpart mula sa regional at provincial government kung saan ang iba't-ibang rural infrastructure project ay maisasagawa. (KAlbay/PIA 12) [top]
