PGMA to hold consultation meeting in Cotabato Province

Cotabato City (12 February) -- In line with government's commitment to pursue peace in Mindanao, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is scheduled to visit Cotabato province on Friday, February 13.

Cotabato Governor Jesus Sacdalan confirms preparations are underway for the President's two-hour visit in the area.

Sacdalan said, President Arroyo's visit is part of the government's efforts to resume peace talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) through series of authentic consultation dialogues with affected communities.

The President will have a meeting the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), stakeholders, local government officials, bishops, ulama and ustadz, and civil society groups in Central Mindanao, Sacdalan said.

President Arroyo, Sacdalan said, wants to personally listen to the opinion and sentiments of the people in affected communities relative to the peace talks with the MILF.
