Prompt submission of billing statement to Philhealth urged
Koronadal City (16 February) -- Philhealth (Philippine Health Insurance Corporation) 12 assistance vice president Ramon F. Aristoza is once again reminding members to immediately submit upon discharge from hospitalization the billing statement or Statement of Account, in compliance with the orders of Philhealth President and chief executive officer Lorna O. Fajardo.
At the recently concluded media forum, Aristoza said that this latest requirement aims to ensure that refunds are given to rightful beneficiaries. This shall also be used as the basis for reimbursement in case of discrepancies between the amount claimed from the actual amount deducted by Philhealth accredited-health care providers.
The said billing statement Aristoza said must be duly signed by the members or his/her duly authorized representative and must be photocopied for the members' reference.
Should a representative is processing or following up the papers on behalf of the member, Philhealth reminds that said representative should have his printed name with signature, relationship to member and contact number be indicated in the claims.
This latest order shall also serve as the basis for reimbursement to the hospital whjich will eventually help prevent the accredited institutions from accumulating unclaimed and unrefunded reimbursements of members, the Philhealth release said. (ac agad PIA 12) [top]
