662 Bukidnon senior citizens receive DSWD subsidy

Cagayan de Oro City (23 February) -- 662 senior citizens in Pangantucan town, Bukidnon, received P500 last February 18 to 20, from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 10 through its Katas ng VAT: Tulong Para Kay Lolo at Lola Project.
In recognition to the senior citizens' contribution to nation building, the DSWD-10 has already provided such subsidy to more than 10 thousand beneficiaries aging from 70 years and above across Northern Mindanao.
The Katas ng VAT: Tulong para kay Lolo at Lola Project was created to augment the resources of poor Filipino senior citizens by way of recognizing their contribution to nation building.
The senior citizen shall meet the criteria and/or requirements:
Age must be 70 years and above; Dependent or belonging to a family whose income is within or below the poverty threshold per area; Not covered by any private and/or government agency retirement benefit e.g. Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO).
The eligible senior citizen may claim the subsidy at their respective Office of Senior Citizens Association Offices or in the absence of such, the local social welfare and development office.
The claimant shall be required to present a valid Identification Card (ID) that indicates the birthday of the senior citizen for validation purposes or a certification from the barangay captain as to the age of the senior citizen.
If the claimant is an authorized representative of the senior citizen, he/shall present the valid ID of the claimant and authorization letter attested by the senior citizen beneficiary.
Recently, the towns of Don Carlos in Bukidnon, Sugbongcogon in Misamis Occidental, and Tagoloan in Misamis Oriental, have also received the Katas ng Vat cash subsidy from DSWD-10. (DSWD 10) [top]
