Tagalog News: Pagpapaunlad sa airport ng Zamboanga Sibugay suportado ni PGMA

Manila (24 February) -- Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang capsule-laying rites para sa pagpapaunlad ng feeder airport sa Barangay Anito sa bayan ng Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay na nagkakahalaga ng P85 milyong piso.

Naging katuwang ng Pangulo sa nabanggit na rites sina Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Assistant Secretary Elmer Soneja, Vice Governor Rey Andre Oligario, 2nd District Representative Dulce Ann Hofer at Ipil Mayor Eldwin Alibutdan.

Naging bahagi rin ang Pangulong Arroyo sa pagdiriwang ng anniversary foundation ng nabanggit na lalawigan sa capitol grounds. Itinurn-over nito kay Governor George Hofer ang tseke na nagkakahalaga ng P45 milyong piso para sa unang tranche ng airport improvement project.

Ayon kay Soneja, kabilang sa Phase I ng proyekto ang extension ng 800-meter runway sa 1.2 kilometers.

Karagdagang P40 milyong piso naman ang ihahanda sa susunod na buwan upang maipag-patuloy ang Phase II ng proyekto na magsasaayos ng 700 meters na bahagi ng runway. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
