Agrarian reform coops receive farm equipment, implements
Negros Occidental (24 February) -- In line with the thrust on food security of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the Office of Congressman Jose Carlos Lacson and the Department of Labor and Employment recently turned over farm equipment, implements and financial assistance to two agrarian reform cooperatives recently.
Lacson and DOLE Assistant Regional Director Crispin Dannug led the turn over at Brgy. Concepcion in Talisay City.
The Department of Agrarian Reform was tasked to identify the ARBs. The equipment is meant to aid the farmers work effectively on the farm lots that were awarded them through CARP.
Lacson urged the beneficiaries to ensure the maintenance of the equipment and implements as this will be helpful to enhance their productivity.
Meanwhile, Dannug said that the donation is only one of the many projects of DOLE aside from job vacancies and livelihood support fund among others.
DAR will monitor the use of such equipment and financial assistance as part of the support services granted to the ARBs. (PIA) [top]
