Antique town bags regional award for excellence in local governance

San Jose, Antique (7 January) -- San Jose de Buenavista, Antique's capital town bagged regional award for Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL Award).
Initiated by the Department of Interior and Local Government, EXCELL AWARD recognizes best performing local government units in Region 6, highlighting their achievement in governance, administration, social services, economic development and environmental management.
For category A (1st to 3rd class municipalities) San Jose won 1st runner up in administrative governance, 2nd runner up in social services, 1st runner up in economic development and 2nd runner up for Best Performing Local Government Units.
Mayor Rony Molina of San Jose in his message during the awarding rites, acknowledged the cooperation of local officials and employees and at the same time appealed for their untiring commitment and support to the implementation of programs and services of the municipal government.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Antique also won 2nd runner up for Best in Social Services - province category.
Rosario Maza, Provincial Director, DILG Antique said that the Search for Excellence in Local Governance does not only encouraged local officials to perform better and achieved the required indicators per category in order to bag the excellence award but above all to deliver effective and efficient services to the people.
