Tabuk City, Kalinga (16 January) -- The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) here is requesting the Civil Service Commission "to grant certificate of eligibilities to the Day Care Workers who pass the assessment conducted by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO)".
Acting on the information given by Civil Service Kalinga Field Office head Nerissa Canguilan that "DCWs can be granted eligibilities provided they qualify", Board Member Martin Polittud authored SP Resolution No. 2009-163 which seeks to set security of service of the 267 DCWs in the province.
"Day care workers who render special service to the children yet only paid P500 is a form of injustice that needs to be corrected", he stated.
"They must be extended the same privilege enjoyed by the barangay officials and barangay health workers", Polittud added.
PSWDO Digna Dalutag said her office is responsible in identifying and recommending those qualified for the grant of eligibility. "The criteria and requirements of selecting those qualified is already in place", she said adding that their office is accepting applications for said eligibility. (PIA-Kalinga) [top]
