Comelec lists 1,134 double registered voters in Ifugao

Lagawe, Ifugao (23 January) -- The Commission on Election (COMELEC) here bared that Ifugao has recorded several double registered voters for the 2010 elections.

Lawyer Jerome Bantiyan of COMELEC - Ifugao disclosed that the number of double registered voters were discovered recently through the lists of double registrants furnished by their Central Office.

The lists stated that Ifugao has 1,134 double registered voters found in the different municipalities of the province including the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela and Quirino.

Among the 11 municipalities of the province Tinoc has the highest number of double registered voters with 202; Hingyon, 148; Asipulo, 117; Alfonso Lista, 107; Lagawe, 102; Hungduan, 90; Aguinaldo, 89; Lamut, 87; Kiangan, 80 Banaue, 72 and Mayoyao, 40.

Bantiyan noted that some voters were registered in two voting places at the same day as reflected in the dates of their registration. (PIA Ifugao) [top]
