PGMA keen on finishing priority infra projects
Manila (January 24) -- PGMA is determined to work until her last day in office, for the completion of her administrations priority infrastructure projects that will trigger economic activities and economic growth in the country.
In fact, on Sunday, January 24, President Arroyo is scheduled to inaugurate the Cansaga Bay Bridge at Barangay Pakna-an, Mandue City, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Victor A. Domingo disclosed.
Speaking before the officers and members of the Region Eight Administrators League on the occasion of the League's induction of officers on Friday, January 22, Secretary Domingo extolled the accomplishments of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who, he said, is the President that has the most number of developmental projects.
She is indeed a very good President, Secretary Domingo said. While others work only from Mondays to Fridays, the President works even on a Sunday if the situation calls for her to do so, just like on January 24, the DPWH Secretary added.
Cansaga Bay Bridge is one of the major development projects of the Arroyo Administration through the DPWH in the Metro Cebu area. It forms part of the Cebu North Coastal Road Project covering the coastal barangays of Mandaue City, Consolacion and Liloan towns along the western seaboard of the island of Cebu.
The project was described by the President in her 2007 State of the Nation Address as one of the important infrastructure projects of her administration that will serve as a gateway to the north of Cebu.
An integral part of the overall road network system and the Metro Cebu overall transport networks, the project will decongest the two-lane Cebu North Road, Mandaue-Consolacion-Liloan portion.
The project aims to improve economic activity of central and northern Cebu through development of road infrastructure facilities that would promote efficient transport of goods and services between northern and central Cebu.
The Arroyo Administration has been pouring billions of pesos to the various infrastructure projects in Central Philippines to enhance business and tourism climate in the Philippines and improve the lives of Filipinos. (PIA 8) [top]
