RED Tumaliuan leads first DENR 2 command conference
Tuguegarao City (26 January) -- Regional Executive Director (RED) Benjamin T. Tumaliuan upon assumption to his post, immediately called for the first regional command conference on January 15, 2010 at the Crown Lodge, Tuguegarao City.
The command conference was attended by Regional Directors, Regional Technical Directors, Division Chiefs, Provincial and Community Environment and Natural Resources Officers, Specialists, Accountants, Planning Officers, Administrative Officers, Checkpoint Team Leaders and selected personnel.
Among the agenda tackled were state of the environment, existing manpower resources, and the 2010 physical and financial targets as well as issues and concerns which need immediate action.
Tumaliuan has called on his staff to be aware and be informed of the existing resources, strengths and opportunities and use them to advance the call. "Be a pro-active and responsive leader," he said.
He also advised them to look for collaborative undertakings, partnerships and joint ventures with Local Government Units and other stakeholders for the management of the natural resources and the protection of the environment.
To ensure personnel welfare, Tumaliaun said field personnel quarters/guest house and working places will be constructed. This will likewise enhance the image of DENR and command respect and appreciation from the transacting public.
"Promote harmonious working relationship, encourage teamwork, transparency, trust and respect among and between officials and personnel", Tumaliuan added.
Tumaliuan likewise assured to train and equip people who are next in line to become the future leaders of region 2. "You must have forward-looking values of yourself, career, family and your community", he stressed. (PIA 2) [top]
