New DENR 2 chief lays down policy directives
Tuguegarao City (26 January) -- Newly installed Environment and Natural Resources Regional Executive Director Benjamin T. Tumaliuan has vowed to manage the Department of Environment and Natural Resources 2 in accordance with the policies and pronouncements made by Sec.Eleazar Quinto during the DENR top level management conference recently.
Tumaliuan who was reassigned in Region 2 under Secretary Quinto's Special Order, has immediately directed the DENR provincial offices to always touch base with local government officials and congressmen within their administrative jurisdiction.
He also ordered the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources offices to prepare their sectoral and CENRO profiles including the state of the environment as basis for planning, decision making and policy issuance.
RED Tumaliuan assured that under his management, the welfare of the DENR employees will be a top priority but he said they must perform well and show their worth in the organization.
"Come up with pro-employee welfare activities, be imaginative and take time to relax, we should not be held captive of routinary works", Tumaliuan told the DENR employees.
He also assured the employees that he will adhere to the Department's merit system in the personnel selection and promotion processes.
Tumaliaun likewise urged the DENR staff to become "environment multipliers," by doing good environmental practices not only in their office but also in their homes and communities.
He also assured them that there will be no reshuffling to be done so that they can fast track the implementation of the priority programs.
