Model rural, urban, provincial police stations lead awardees in PNP 19th Anniversary in Region 8
Tacloban City (January 30) -- The 19th Anniversary celebration of the Philippine National Police Region 8 will be held at the Regional PNP Ground on February 1 in the morning, and will be highlighted by the awarding of the best police stations in the Eastern Visayas Region.
This was disclosed to the Philippine Information Agency by a reliable source.
Among this year's awards is the Model Rural l Rural Police station of Region 8 for 2009 which was won by the Tanauan Police Station in the province of Leyte. The award will be received by the chief of police of the Tanauan Police Station.
Another award is the Model Urban Police Station in Region 8 for 2009 which will be given to the Catbalogan City Police Station.
To be cited as the Model Provincial Police Station of Region 8, is the Northern Samar Police Station.
Among the other awards to be given by the Philippine National Police in Region 8 headed by Police Chief Superintendent Rey Lanada, are the Model Police Mobile Group in the Region, the Model Non-Uniformed Personnel of the Region and the special awards to partners.
The PNP 19th Anniversary theme "Mamamayan At Kapulisan: Bayanihang Pangkatahimikan at Pangkaayusan," spotlights the partnership between the police and the community in the achievement of peace and ordering of life in the society.
The same partnership paved the way for the successful major campaigns on criminality, loose firearms, partisan armed groups, internal security and election security operations. (PIA 8) [top]
