Tagalog News: Isang linggong cyber-corridor tour ng Pangulong Arroyo, sinimulan

Manila (2 February) -- Sinimulan na ng Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang isang linggong pagbisita sa mga lungsod at mga capital towns sa buong bansa, na tinaguriang cyber corridor. Ang mga nasabing lugar ay pinili ng mga kompanyang nakatuon sa information and communications technology (ICT) at business process outsourcing (BPO).

Highlight sa nasabing tour ang legacy ng administrasyong Arroyo na nakatuon sa pagbibigay ng human at physical infrastructure sa sektor ng ICT-BPO na nagbubukas ng high-paying jobs sa mga kabataang Pilipino.

Ayon kay Presidential Deputy Spokesperson Gary Olivar, bibisitahin ng Pangulong Arroyo ang mga ICT-BPO centers sa Metro Manila, Cebu City at ang mga lungsod na napabilang sa top ten next-wave zones gaya ng Laguna, Cavite, Iloilo, Davao, Bulacan, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Lipa at Pampanga.

Ang nabanggit na mga lugar ay tinaguriang top ten next-wave zones dahil sa availability ng mga ICT graduates at workers, telecommunications access, mababang renta at power costs at mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan na sumusuporta sa IT-BPO operations.

Sa kasalukuyan ang cyber corridor ay host ng mahigit 75,000 call centers at BPO companies. (ac agad PIA 12) [top]
