P.5M incentive awaits top NVizcaya athletes in 2010 regional sports meet

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (February 3) -- Athletes from this province who will excel in their chosen sports will be awarded with a P.5 million incentive, Governor Luisa Cuaresma here said.
The amount was pledged by Cuaresma to encourage Nueva Vizcaya athletes to perform well and do their best to bring honor and prestige to the province.
The incentive came as Nueva Vizcaya will host this year's Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) meet in this capital town From February 5 to 9 at the Dumlao Sports complex here.
The events to be played are archery, arnis, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, ballroom dancing, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, baseball, volleyball, swimming, table tennis and taekwondo among others.
The regional sports meet will be participated by the provinces of Isabela, Cagayan, Batanes, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya with the cities of Cauayan, Santiago and Tuguegarao.
Provincial local government officials, students and school officials in Cagayan Valley region will join senator Manuel Villar during the opening program on February 5. Villar will be the guest of honor and speaker during the opening program. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
