Tagalog News: Pag-imprinta ng manual ballots para sa OFWs sinimulan na

Manila (3 February) -- Sisimulan na ngayong araw ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang pag-imprinta ng mga manual ballots na gagamitin sa Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) ayon kay Comelec Commissioner Armando Velasco, Chairman ng Committee on Absentee Voting (COAV).

Mayroong 589, 830 OFW absentee voters na aasahang boboto sa nalalapit May 10, 2010 elections.

Sa nasabing bilang, 138,113 ay mga postal voters, samantalang personal na boboto sa embahada o consulate offices ng Pilipinas sa bansang kanilang pinagtatrabahuan ang 451, 717.

Ang mga OFW ay boboto sa Abril 10, isang buwan bago ang halalan sa bansa.

Ayon kay Velasco, pinaplano ng Comelec na gawing automated ang eleksiyon sa mga bansang Singapore at Hongkong kung saan maraming Pilipino ang nagtatrabaho.

Ang shipment ng mga balota para sa mga OFWs ay magsisimula tatlumpong araw bago ang eleksyon.

Inaasahan ng Comelec na kalahati sa kabuuang bilang ng mg registered absentee voters ang lalahok sa national polls. (PIA 12) [top]
