Tagalog News: Satellite transmission sa eleksyon, isinulong kontra cellphone jammers

Manila (3 February) -- Suhestyon ng isang opisyal ng pamahalaan na gumamit ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) ng satellite transmission para maiwasan ang epekto ng cellphone jammers sa pagpapadala ng resulta ng botohan sa Mayo.

Tiniyak din ni Congressman Joseph Santiago, na dating commissioner ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), na hindi mabubura ng mga jamming device ang mga botong narerehistro sa precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machine.

Binigyang-diin ni Santiago na hindi pwedeng masabotahe ang pagboto dahil hindi magagawang mapigilan ng jammer ang pagrehistro ng boto sa PCOS machine. Sakali mang magtagumpay ang pagharang sa signal ng transmission ng boto, ang transmission lang umano ang mababalam, paliwanag pa ni Santiago.

Pinayuhan din ni Congressman Santiago ang Comelec na gumawa nang alternatibo kahit hindi pa nila beripikado ang gagawing operasyon ng cellphone jammers sa eleksyon.

Pinakamagandang gawin daw ng Comelec ay ilipat na lang sa satellite transmission ang pagpadadala ng boto sa halip na gumamit ng lantad na network signal.

Idinagdag ni Santiago na hindi makakayang gumastos ng mananabotahe sa eleksyon nai-jam ang satellite transmission. (PIA 12) [top]
