4.7 magnitude quake rattles Surigao City
Surigao City (February 3) -- A 4.7 magnitude quake rattled city folks and nearby areas in Surigao City Tuesday night.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the tremor, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Caraga region reported.
"We are still monitoring if there are damages, but to date still there is no reported damages," said Caraga region OCD Director Blanche T. Gobenciong.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said quake struck off Surigao del Norte at 7:19 p.m.
Phivolcs said the tremor was recorded 97 kilometers northeast of Surigao City in the northeastern part Mindanao.
It occurred at a depth of 126.18 kilometers in Surigao City.
