Puerto Princesa to host MIMAROPA RAA
Puerto Princesa City (3 February) -- The City of Puerto Princesa will host the Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan Regional Athletic Association (MIMAROPA RAA) Meet scheduled on 21-26 February.
Ms. Leaf Miraflores, DepEd Education Supervisor said that around 3,500 athletes and their chaperons and sports officials are expected to arrive in the city for the annual sports competition. The delegations are from Calapan City, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Puerto Princesa City, and Palawan.
Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn created Task Force MIMAROPA RAA Meet to ensure the successful conduct of the regional sports competition. The Task Force which includes the Dept. of Education are finalizing arrangements for the technical requirements of the games and the billeting needs of the 7 delegations and the regional management.
Puerto Princesa City delegation is hoping to regain the overall championship in the MIMAROPA RAA meet. The delegation was the champion in 2000, 2002 and 2003. (PIA) [top]
