Tagalog News: PGMA pinapurihan ang Negros Occidental bilang isa sa "fastest growing BPO destinations" sa bansa

Bacolod City (4 February) -- Tinukoy ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang local business environment sa Silay, Negros Occidental na siyang dahilan sa pagiging isa sa pinakamagandang destinasyon para sa business processing outsourcing (BPO) ng lungsod.

Ito ang binigyang diin ng Pangulo sa kanyang pakikipag-usap sa mga locators, call center agents, at media sa kanyang pagbisita kahapon sa Teleperformance Philippines. Tinukoy ng Pangulo ang paglobo ng populasyon ng mga manggagawa sa BPO doon.

Ani Pangulo, isa nang global powerhouse ang BPO industry sa bansa na nagsimula lang sa dalawang libo at apatnaraang mangagagawa noong 2000. Ito umano ay naisakatuparan sa pamamagitan ng paglalagay ng digital infrastructure, pagsagawa ng akmang patakaran, paglikha ng legal environment, at pagpapaunlad ng human capital.

Sa ilalim ng panunungkulan ng Pangulo, nakapaglikha ito ng kalahating milyong trabaho sa larangan ng information and communications technology (ICT) bilang pamana ng kanyang tiyaga, malakas at matatag na ekonomiya, renewed global engagement, major investments sa healthcare at edukasyon at dramatic improvements sa mga imprastruktura.
