Pampanga product sales hit P3.247 billion in 2009
San Fernando City, Pampanga (5 February) -- The Department of Trade and Industry announced that the total domestic sales of Pampanga-based products reached 3.247 billion pesos last year.
According to DTI-Pampanga Business Development Division Chief Leonor Paningbatan, 12.180 million of last year's domestic sales came from trade fairs like Likha ng Central Luzon while 59.35 million was sourced from pasalubong centers.
On the other hand, total export sales of the province pegged at 14.695 million dollars.
Paningbatan said that they were able to meet their export target despite the global economic slump.
Meanwhile, DTI-Pampanga was able to conduct 141 trainings for 8,607 individuals and provided 27.3 million pesos worth of loans to 93 micro,small and medium entreprises (MSMEs).
It had facilitated 96 Product Development Clinics and created 388 new packaging and labeling designs of local products.
In support of the government's Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, the agency helped 14 Agrarian Reform Communities by creating 1,923 jobs for the beneficiaries.
These communities were able to generate more than 29 million pesos worth of sales.
For 2010, DTI-Pampanga expects a positive growth in exports as it targets United Arab Emirates and New Zealand as new markets. (PIA 3) [top]
